When you want or need to adjust the terms of your current mortgage, you do so with a refinance.  And without a clear strategy, often times you're not getting what's best for you...only what's best for your lender!

  • Not take escrow accounts towards the end of the year
  • Closely examine a 'no cost' refinance
  • Never, ever pay discount points when refinancing
  • Consider a 20 or 25 year term instead of a 15 or 30
  • Not refinance at all if you aggressively pay down your note
